Welcome to two new members who joined last October. Dr. Pamela Smith is a retired veterinarian; her partner, Kevin Belluomini, is a retired firefighter/paramedic.
Pam says, “I was certified in 1978 as a Southern California teenager. My parents actually started diving in the 1960s after watching Jacques Cousteau on TV. This was actually before certifications were available.
“Kevin was certified in 2015, so we could start diving together. I had taken a long break in between. Of note, he served as a volunteer tank diver at Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco for a year after becoming certified.”
A Decade of Logged Dives: “We’ve both 250 logged dives since 2015. I do not have a record of my dives in the 1970s and 1980s,though I did complete an advanced NAUI certification through a course at Cal Poly Pomona in 1980.”
Our Favorite Destination and Latest Dives.“Our favorite place so far was Raja Ampat––we just went in January on the Mermaid 1. It was a big bucket list scuba trip. We just got back from Bonaire for the third time. Love getting wet there!”
What’s next? “We’re excited about Socorro 2028 and have also booked a Philippines trip for 2027.”
